MUFC PERFORMANCE
MUFC Performance is a new programme that will drive the club’s coaching and player development approach for the future, enabling us to attract, retain and develop more of our own players.
MUFC Performance will extend Maidenhead United’s junior/youth football provision by providing a professionally led performance pathway between our established MUFC Juniors and MUFC Academy programmes and, potentially, our men’s and women’s first team squads.
MUFC Performance is for boys and girls aged 7 to 16, with all age groups competing in the Junior Premier League (JPL).
For the 2024/25 season, MUFC Performance will offer a programme for boys at under 10, 11, 12 & 16 and for girls at under 10, 12 & 13. Additional age groups will be added for the 2025/26 season.
MUFC Performance will embody the club's wider philosophy and purpose of putting people first, ensuring our community stays connected, meaning we will offer a player development environment designed to nurture talent and develop the skills which will support achievement on and off the pitch.
MUFC Performance will provide a holistic approach to player development underpinned by the provision of quality of coaching sits at the core of this approach. All sessions will be delivered by UEFA qualified coaches with teams managed by coaches who are members of the FA Licenced Coach Club.
Selection trials for all age groups will be held in two stages in two stages initial open trials which will be taking place on:
7-8.30pm on Thursday 25 April at Bisham Abbey Astroturf for U10, U12 & U13 Girls.
6-7.30pm on Monday 29th April at Cox Green Leisure Centre Astroturf for U10 Boys.
6-7.30pm on Wednesday 1st May at Cox Green Leisure Centre Astroturf for U11 & U12 Boys.
Subsequently, we will invite a smaller cohort of players to attend a second trial on either Thursday 2nd May for U10, U12 & U13 Girls or Thursday 9th May for U10, U11 & U12 Boys. These trials will take place between 7pm and 8.30pm at Bisham Abbey. Final selections will be made for the MUFC Performance squads will be made following the second trials.
We do expect there for be significant competition for places for the MUFC Performance squads however please be assured our objective for the trial days is to provide all players with a positive and enjoyable experience.
Our objective is also to offer all participants within the trials access to a development pathway, meaning that players not selected for the MUFC Performance squad will all be offered alternative football opportunities within Maidenhead United. This will include invitations to attend either MUFC Performance’s weekly Advanced or Development training sessions and/or the opportunity to join one of our Maidenhead United FC Juniors teams.

We do have capacity restrictions for the trials, so we will be accepting registrations on a first come first serve basis, with the register closing when we have reached capacity.

Goalkeeping provision, aligned to the wider framework, will be provided within the practical training hours
Trials for the U10, U11 & U12 boys as well as the U10, U12 and U13 girls will be held during the last week of April and first week of May 2024 (dates to be confirmed).
